Lakeside is the admission point directly in to Studley Royal Water Garden. Beyond
the 18th Century garden you can discover the rest of the estate including the
Abbey and Mill.
Visitors can become National Trust members by requesting information about the
benefits at the admission desk.
There is a large car park, costing £3 per car for all day parking.
There are toilets, disabled toilets and baby change facility at Lakeside.
Lakeside Tearoom overlooks Studley Lake and is located in a pretty Victorian
building which was probably originally constructed as a house for the estate stewards
of the 1st Marquess of Ripon in c. 1860.
However, it was a tearoom by the 1890s, a reminder that
Studley Royal Water Gardens were as popular over a century ago as they are now. The Tearoom garden has picnic
benches for those who wish to eat outside.
A refreshment kiosk is open during the summer months behind the Tearoom, selling
snacks, drinks and locally made Braymor icecream.
A second National Trust shop is situated at Lakeside, providing another opportunity
to purchase a memento of your day at Fountains.
Information about other local National Trust properties is available at
West Gate.
